Overview The Montefiore RN maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's Social Policy Statement. The Registered Nurse actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. Responsibilities Demonstrates leadership skills in the coordination and delivery of patient care. Systematically assesses the health care of patients/families and responses to care rendered. Demonstrates critical thinking skills to problem solve and initiate clinical decision making. Evaluates patient progress toward health goals and modifies critical path or plan of care accordingly. Develops, coordinates and provides direct care for specific patient assignment. Provides a safe environment for patients/families. Provides comprehensive direct patient care to assigned patients. Communicates effectively with patient/family and members of the health care team. Requirements Demonstrates responsibility for maintaining competencies and participates in activities contributing to the growth and development of self, colleagues and the nursing profession. Is responsible and accountable for own practice. Integrates the standards of excellence into daily clinical practice. Qualifications BS BSN in Nursing Preferred. At least 2 years of RN experience in Emergency Department is required. Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems (Medium proficiency). Effective English communication skills, both written and oral (Medium proficiency). OHS Fit Test Required. Registered Nurse New York, New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an RN Upon Hire Required. OHS Annual Assessment Required. Certification in specialty Upon Hire Preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Upon Hire Required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Training Upon Hire Required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Training Upon Hire Required.
