Interventional Cardiology Technologist - Travel/Contract (Cath Lab)

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiology Technologist to join a high-volume, high-acuity Cath Lab. This role is ideal for candidates comfortable in fast-paced environments, assisting with complex cardiac and peripheral procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist physicians during interventional cardiac procedures
• Support a wide range of Cath Lab cases, including:
  • Diagnostic & interventional caths (RHC, LHC)
  • STEMI / NSTEMI cases
  • CTO, PCI, atherectomy
  • Valvuloplasty, Cardiomems, biopsies
  • Mechanical support: IABP, Impella (ECMO experience preferred)
• Assist with peripheral vascular procedures and fistulograms
• Maintain sterile field and ensure patient safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a 24/7 Cath Lab environment

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab experience (REQUIRED)
• Traveler Experience: First-time travelers not accepted
• Licensure & Certifications:
  • BLS (Required)
  • ACLS (Required)
  • Wisconsin State License (Required)
  • RCIS (Preferred)
• Skills:
  • Strong scrubbing and panning experience
  • Experience with cardiac and peripheral procedures listed above
  • Hybrid lab exposure preferred but not required

Facility & Unit Details

• Beds: 933
• Trauma Level: III
• Designations: Magnet Hospital | Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Labs: 15 total (?11 Cath Lab; travelers assigned to Cath Lab only)
• Daily Case Volume: 24-40 cases
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Population: Adults only

Technology & Equipment

• EMR: EPIC
• Hemodynamic System: GE MacLab (Pruka)
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
• Imaging: GE C-arms
• PACS: Fuji, ProSolv
• Additional Equipment: Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, Anari (experience preferred but not required)
• IABP: Maquet

Support & Work Environment

• 24/7 Cath Lab with:
  • In-house cardiology coverage
  • Respiratory Therapy (vent management)
  • Hospitalist support
  • Charge nurse/lead tech
  • Dedicated transporters, HUC, and supply staff
• High-functioning, team-oriented environment with strong support systems

Orientation

• 1 week orientation provided

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Shifts: 8-hour, 12-hour, or a mix (24/7 coverage)
• Call Requirements:
  • Weekday call: post-shift (typically 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM shift + overnight call)
  • Weekend call: as needed
  • 7-day call block (Friday-Friday): every 2-3 months (may not be called every day)
  • 30-minute response time
• Holidays: As needed based on staffing
• RTO: Up to 7 days (manager approval)
• Fatigue Policy: Max 60 hours/week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
