Job Summary

Administers pulmonary function testing and provides other pulmonary/respiratory-related care and treatments as prescribed by licensed physician. The Pulmonary Function Lead Technician has a working knowledge of the basic physiology of pulmonary function testing and the basic principles of biomedical instrumentation and pulmonary function equipment. Proficient in performing laboratory tests and procedures. Also has the functional awareness of how polysomnography and test scoring are performed. In addition, assist with the daily operations of pulmonary, bronchoscopy and sleep.

Responsibilities:

* Performs pulmonary function testing

* Assist with scheduling to ensure consistent volume

* Assist with the daily operations of pulmonary, bronchoscopy and sleep

* Assists with Quality Assurance and Performance

* Troubleshoots equipment for problem resolutions

Qualifications:

• AS in Respiratory Therapy or Sleep Medicine, Bachelors preferred
• 5 plus years of clinical experience in sleep medicine or pulmonary function testing is required
• Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) OR CPFT OR RPSGT by NBRC. In lieu of certification, must have 1-2 years of clinical experience in sleep medicine or pulmonary function testing and must obtain certification within 18 months of employment.
• BLS by American Heart Association
