Adjunct Instructor: Teach Hands-On Career Programs (Livingston)

While all qualified Adjunct applicants are encouraged to apply, Lamar Institute of Technology has current openings at our Livingston location for instructors in the following academic disciplines: Workforce Medication Aide Instruction Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Welding Real Estate Accounting Adjunct Instructors must be qualified and competent to teach applicable courses within the degree and certificate programs. Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend classes. This is not a posting for ONLINE instructors. Classes will be delivered at the Livingston, Texas Polk County Education Center. Teach courses at the Livingston, Texas Polk County Center as scheduled and actively engage with students in the learning process Provide timeline feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner Maintain ethical and professional behavior Attend adjunct faculty meetings Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels Complete required training, such as Blackboard Online Instructor Certification and Title IX Training, etc. Take advantage of the professional development opportunities offered by The State Colleges and Sam Houston State University (SHSU) Faculty Development Trainings to continually refine and improve professional knowledge and teaching skills Adhere to the policies and procedures contained in theTSUSRules and Regulations and State Colleges’ Policies and Procedures Manuals Other related duties, as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Possess an earned: Associate degree in teaching discipline; OR Licensure or certificate in teaching discipline + applicable years of relevant work experience in teaching discipline Possess good time management skills Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor degree in teaching discipline, or higher Experience teaching in higher education is preferred Related field and/or industry certifications, if applicable Knowledge of teaching methodologies/pedagogical strategies Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine. #J-18808-Ljbffr Lamar-Institute-of-Technology
