Position Overview

Fusion Innovation is seeking an accomplished Senior Graphic Designer to provide strategic branding guidance and deliver polished visual products for a high-visibility organization. The selected candidate will serve as a trusted design advisor and brand custodian, establishing visual standards and ensuring they are applied consistently across communications and organizational materials. This is a senior, hands-on position for an experienced graphic design professional. The successful candidate must be able to confidently assess branding needs, present well-supported design recommendations, and personally execute those recommendations. Candidates whose experience is primarily in communications or who have performed occasional graphic design as an additional duty will not be a fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary advisor on branding, graphic design, and visual communication.
• Develop, refine, and implement organizational branding strategies and visual standards.
• Act as the brand custodian, ensuring consistent use of colors, typography, imagery, logos, and other visual elements.
• Evaluate existing branding and recommend improvements.
• Translate complex information, strategic priorities, and communications objectives into clear and compelling visual products.
• Design executive-level presentations, briefings, reports, publications, digital graphics, signage, event materials, and other communications products.
• Create original concepts and carry them through design, revision, approval, and final production.
• Develop templates, style guides, brand standards, and reusable visual assets.
• Coordinate closely with communications personnel and organizational leadership.
• Present design concepts and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback while maintaining design quality and brand consistency.
• Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
• Prepare files for digital distribution, print production, and other delivery formats.
• Review visual products for quality, consistency, accessibility, and adherence to established standards.
• Maintain organized source files, asset libraries, templates, and final deliverables.
• Coordinate with vendors or production partners when necessary.

Required Skills

• Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
• Senior-level professional experience in graphic design, branding, visual communication, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing branding recommendations.
• Experience serving as a lead designer, brand manager, brand custodian, or trusted design advisor.
• A professional portfolio demonstrating advanced graphic design skills and completed branding work.
• Strong proficiency with industry-standard graphic design and production software.
• Experience creating original visual concepts rather than relying exclusively on existing templates.
• Strong understanding of typography, color theory, composition, hierarchy, layout, and visual storytelling.
• Experience developing products for both digital and print environments.
• Ability to communicate and defend design recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to independently manage projects from initial concept through final implementation.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and quality control.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with communications professionals, leadership, and other stakeholders.

Desired Skills

• Experience developing or managing enterprise-level brand standards.
• Experience supporting executive leadership or a high-visibility organizational front office.
• Experience designing executive presentations, strategic communications, reports, campaigns, and event materials.
• Knowledge of digital accessibility and Section 508 design principles.
• Experience coordinating with print vendors and managing production specifications.
• Familiarity with UI/UX, web graphics, motion graphics, photography, or video production.
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related discipline.

Additional Details

• Fusion Innovation anticipates the annual base salary for this position will generally range from $100,000 to $215,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to:
  
  
  • Years of direct applicable experience with this work and the Customer
  • Relevant education, certifications, and training
  • Contract labor category requirements, skill level, contract bill rate, and hours allocation
  • Alignment with the position's responsibilities
  • Additional specialized skills
