Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with EPIC experience for a hospital Surgical Services unit position.

Details

Hospital Surgical Services unit caring for patients from neonate through geriatric populations
12-hour day shifts scheduled three days per week, 06:00-17:00
Call requirements include 1 weekend, 3 overnights, and up to 30 daytime call hours within a 6-week period
Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

BLS certification required
CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential required
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Tech experience required
Minimum of 2 years of EPIC experience required
License required if applicable
Knowledge of medical terminology, metric system, and aseptic technique
Strong problem-solving, prioritizing, and planning skills

Additional Information

Assist surgeons and care team during intra-operative patient care
Prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation and equipment
Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy
Apply aseptic technique to ensure positive patient outcomes
Recognize and respond immediately to urgent or emergency situations during procedures
Adhere to professional standards of practice in all patient and family interactions
