Location & Compensation Franklin, IN, US $5,000.00 Bonus Available * Job Responsibilities Restores and promotes patient’s health by completing the nursing process, which includes but is not limited to: Completes initial nursing assessment within 24 hours of admission or per Behavioral Health Unit/JMH policy; reassesses routinely throughout the patient’s stay. Completes individualized treatment plan for each patient. Plans, implements, and coordinates nursing care activities. Conducts therapies in accordance with patient’s diagnosis and needs. Performs treatment interventions following physician orders such as medication administration. Ensures patient’s dignity and respects patient values. Assists with patient personal needs (oral hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing, transferring, etc.) as required. Operates and participates in tele psych. Draws patient blood as ordered. Collaborates with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and outside health and social service agencies. Interprets the nursing and treatment needs of the patient for non‑clinical staff. Provides efficient discharge plans and obtains accurate histories at admission. Completes all required documentation (admission paperwork, assessments, progress notes, interventions, evaluations, discharge paperwork, CQI+ data) in a timely, efficient manner. Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety standards, infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations. Uses hygienic practices and teaches patient hygienic practices. Assists in safely placing patients in seclusion or restraints and observes suicide/seclusion precautions. Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Orients or mentors new nursing staff as needed. Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and regulatory standards, and conducting patient chart audits. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support and participating in individual, group, and family psychotherapy and educational seminars as appropriate. Performs medication reconciliation. Ensures operations of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques. Provides feedback to supervisor on an ongoing basis regarding concerns, improvements, and changes. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality and protects operations by keeping patient and program information confidential. Operates within ethical standards and follows voluntary and involuntary procedures/processes. Performs other related duties as assigned. Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health. Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions. Education, Experience, and Training Current Indiana license as a Registered Nurse required. Current BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers and ALS or ACLS certifications required. Crisis prevention certification required. One year of experience preferred. BSN preferred. * Eligibility for the bonus is limited to external candidates and internal candidates who are new registered nurses. Requires a 24‑month employment commitment.
