Warehouse Associate

The Warehouse Associate is a multifaceted role supporting both retail bookstore operations and warehouse/shipping functions. This position plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service, managing inventory, processing sales and shipments, and maintaining organized, safe, and efficient store and warehouse environments. Key Responsibilities Greet and assist customers in person, by phone, email, and online inquiries Recommend books and products based on customer needs Accurately process sales using the POS system and handle cash/card transactions Promote specials, discounts, and ongoing promotions Bookstore Operations Assist with opening and closing procedures Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays Monitor and replenish store supplies Support management in meeting sales and operational goals Inventory, Warehouse & Shipping Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming shipments Conduct inventory checks, cycle counts, and report discrepancies Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment Generate shipping documents and coordinate with carriers Load/unload shipments and operate warehouse equipment (training provided) Maintain organized warehouse storage and follow best packaging practices Follow all workplace safety procedures and use PPE as required Maintain cleanliness of bookstore and warehouse areas Report maintenance, safety, or equipment issues promptly Clean driving record – We will provide training in driving trucks. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Retail, customer service, or warehouse experience preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask Basic computer and data entry skills; POS experience a plus Physical ability to lift and move inventory and work in varying environmental conditions Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays( occasionally). Operating warehouse equipment (e.g, forklifts, pallet jacks) is preferred. We offer free training. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
