Staff Accountant

Position Title: Staff Accountant Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 Location: On-site Reports To: Controller Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month‑end close activities. This role ensures accuracy and integrity of financial information, assists with audit preparation, and contributes to continuous process improvements within the accounting function. Key Responsibilities General Accounting Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP. Perform monthly account reconciliations, including balance sheet and key sub‑ledger accounts. Assist with month‑end and year‑end close, ensuring deadlines are met. Maintain accuracy of the general ledger. Accounts Payable & Receivable Support Review AP/AR transactions for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with company policies. Support invoice processing, payment batches, and aging reports as needed. Reconcile customer and vendor accounts, researching variances. Financial Reporting & Analysis Assist in preparing internal financial statements, variance explanations, and management reports. Support preparation of audit schedules, documentation, and external auditor requests. Help ensure processes support compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Operational & Cross‑Functional Support Partner with FP&A, Payroll, and Operations departments to resolve accounting issues and ensure accurate reporting. Support the development and implementation of accounting process improvements. Participate in special projects, system upgrades, and workflow enhancements as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. 1‑3 years of general accounting experience preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Workday, SAP, Oracle, etc.) is a plus. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability. Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure. Benefits Salary range of $60,000 - $75,000; potential discretionary bonuses.
