Lead Medical Assistant (Full Time)

Job Summary Full‑time Lead Medical Assistant at our Boca Raton and Ft. Lauderdale offices. Responsible for administrative support to physicians and staff, supervision, and staff development to maintain professional medical operations. Requires previous healthcare experience and dermatology experience. Full time, 30+ hours. Schedule Monday‑Friday and rotating Saturdays 7am‑7pm. Flexibility to cover in a team environment is needed. Responsibilities Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances quality of service and care for patients and providers. Lead by example, maintain office presence and professionalism. Communicate with office management to instill company values, vision, and protocols. Maintain knowledge of standard operating procedures and policies for the clinical department. Be familiar with all clinical treatments to appropriately address patient needs. Proficient in pre‑care and post‑care treatment instructions. Understand provider‑to‑patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps. Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, allergy, and/or laser procedures. Prepare and clean exam rooms for all procedures. Supervise and evaluate day‑to‑day duties of Medical Assistants/LPNs. Ensure adherence to opening and closing checklists. Scan consumables and retail products; place orders; perform inventory counts; maintain medical supplies; avoid waste. Assist providers in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, obtaining consents, and other procedures following established guidelines. Audit consumable trackers and laser logs weekly. Audit specimen logbooks and lab trackers for providers. Ensure all required medical forms (written or electronic) such as consents, EMR notes, lab results, etc., are organized, submitted, and timely. Execute new protocols and assist with training needs. Provide onboarding planning, training, and continued education for new and current medical support staff. Ensure refill and prior authorization requests and To‑Do tasks are handled timely. Supervise and arrange coverage for necessary shifts when staff calls out, has emergencies, or PTO; cover shifts as needed. Enforce CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations and report incidents to office management. Cross‑train front desk coverage during emergencies. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor on an as‑needed basis. Qualifications 2–3 years experience in a dermatology or medical environment preferred. Experience with EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred. Computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Excellent patient relations and customer service skills. Professional, reliable, and dedicated employee. Strong critical thinking, problem‑resolution skills, and multitasking ability. Prior experience in a dermatology/medical environment preferred. Open availability to work weekdays and weekends.
