Duties

You will review and research material lists prepared by inspectors and shop personnel for repair costs for various types of heavy equipment.

You will maintain databases to track stock of all inventory and part numbers, ensuring each file has associated National Item Identification Numbers and suggested vendors and/or manufacturer codes.

You will maintain procurement records, receipts, invoices, shipping, receiving, and other documentation for tracking and audit purposes.

You will record details of acceptance, rejection, or cancellation for material procurement records.

You will assist in determining correct disposition of all unused material, processing it for turn-in to the supply system or the Defense Property Disposal Office in accordance with current directives.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a 15,000 lb. forklift operator's license through Navy provided training programs within six months of hiring date.

Qualifications

For Outside applicants claiming VEOA and VRA (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Possessing the knowledge to use Microsoft Word/Excel and also having the ability to quickly learn other computer programs; 2) Having the experience and skills with submitting purchase requisitions; 3) Being able to hold and use a government purchase credit card; and 4) Communicating effectively with internal and external customers regarding procurement packages and general inquiries.
