Registered Nurse (RN), Pre-Operative/PACU/OR (Full Time) Overland Park, KS Position Overview Registered Nurse (RN) in Pre-Op, PACU, and Operating Room settings. Full‑time, Monday‑Thursday 7 am‑5:30 pm with one Friday per month shift. No late nights, weekends, holidays or on‑call shifts. Accountable for quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under direction. Participates in direct patient care and maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment. Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and direct patient care in an individual Operating Room. Ensure proper techniques and practices are used in accordance with accepted standards of practice. Comply with HIPAA regulations and constitute patient rights. Perform duties within the scope of license as defined by the State. Supervise other personnel in the room and provide assistance as needed. Report unusual occurrences to charge personnel and document appropriately. Coordinate, communicate and provide continuity of patient care. Assess, prioritize, plan and implement patient care effectively. Maintain accurate and legible medical records. Participate in continuing education, staff meetings, and Q.A.P.I. program. Follow Physician orders and management directions. Participate in development of a healthy work environment. Assist in training new staff. Balance team and individual responsibilities. Collaborate with other departments. Circulator duties: perform scrub duties, maintain count, supervisory tasks, positioning patient, supply management, assist staff, observe patient, review medication lists, ensure charting, handle specimens, accompany patient to PACU, maintain safe environment, control traffic and personnel. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program – required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing – preferred. One year of prior nursing experience in OR, ASC, Pre/Post‑Op, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical or Telemetry. Licenses and Credentials Current RN License in Kansas – required. BLS certification – required. Systems and Technology Knowledge of Amkai Office and Amkai Charts Database. Knowledge of patient monitoring and emergency equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Use of printer, copier, telephone, fax. Physical Requirements Walk 75%, sit 50%, stand 50%; bending, stooping, reaching 25–50%. Lift, carry, push, pull up to 25 lb. Fine motor skills required for grasping, writing, typing, technology use. Visual and auditory acuity required 100% of time. Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary.
