Job Overview Pacific Fusion is seeking an exceptional Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and create the path to commercial fusion energy. You will: Responsibilities Develop innovative mechanical designs for complex engineering problems while adhering to ambitious timelines. Develop solutions to improve assembly throughput while maintaining high quality work. Interface with cross functional teams in manufacturing and facilities to ensure on time delivery of final assemblies. Design assembly tooling and lifting fixtures for a high volume manufacturing line. Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Develop and maintain documentation for assembly, lifting, and inspection procedures to maintain a high level of quality relative to critical-to-function features and system characteristics. Perform impact assessments on variances in final assemblies and delivered parts. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required. A Master’s Degree or PhD is a plus. 5+ years work experience as a Mechanical Engineer. Advanced knowledge of CAD software, such as Creo. Experience in the application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/or Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM (Design for Manufacturability). Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
