Radiologic Technologist - Part Time

Job Summary The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x‑rays, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient operations. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $26.00 – $35.00 Sign on bonus up to $10,000 (eligible applicants) – Monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics. Responsibilities Perform and analyze patient x‑rays and report results to Medical Providers. Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants to determine procedures and views for accurate diagnoses. Ensure proper patient positioning and protection during exposure, including use of wheelchair if necessary. Prepare patients for examination: conduct interviews, verify information, record medical history, and perform vital sign checks. Conduct point‑of‑care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide results to provider. Maintain and scan medical records; conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up. Document daily controls, calibration, and troubleshooting of equipment; perform preventive maintenance and submit repair tickets. Adhere to radiation safety protocols, implementing ALARA to minimize exposure. Collaborate with ordering/treating Provider to determine best procedures or views. Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly. Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety; answer patient questions. Qualifications High School Diploma required. Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required. Experience in a clinical setting preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire. State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required (if applicable by state law). Essential Functions Perform x‑ray services as needed under the direction of the clinical provider. Ensure patients are positioned correctly and protected during use. Inform technical staff of patient flow and prepare patients for examination. Record medical history, confirm purpose of visit, and perform preliminary physical tests. Escalate critical cases to provider and perform point‑of‑care testing as needed. Maintain medical records and scanning of charts. Follow operating instructions for daily equipment controls, calibration, and maintenance. Maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment and troubleshoot breakdowns. Collaborate with providers to determine best procedures or views.
