Associate Veterinarian

Introduction
An established AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its experienced team. Serving the local community since 1998, the hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats, combining preventive medicine with advanced diagnostics, surgery, dentistry and additional medical services. The position provides the opportunity to manage a varied small-animal General Practice caseload within an established seven-veterinarian environment, with mentorship and continued education.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, including wellness and preventive care, diagnostic investigation, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery and ongoing medical management. The successful veterinarian will take responsibility for patient care from diagnosis through treatment, with the clinical autonomy to make appropriate medical decisions and maintain high standards of veterinary care. Responsibilities include developing long-term client relationships, clearly communicating diagnostic findings and treatment recommendations, and educating owners to support informed decisions regarding their pets' health.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, alongside advanced medical care, Pain Management, Laser Therapy and Behavioral Care, with the facility equipped to manage the majority of medical and surgical requirements in-house. Diagnostic capabilities include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, Tonometry, ECG, Endoscopy and Blood & Laboratory Testing. The hospital provides routine through advanced surgical care, including Soft Tissue Surgery, Dental Surgery and Cryotherapy, supported by modern anesthetic agents and advanced anesthetic monitoring equipment. Veterinarians also have direct access to board-certified specialist consultation when additional expertise is required for complex cases. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays.

The hospital has an established seven-veterinarian team, supported by an experienced paraprofessional and wider support team. The collaborative clinical environment provides access to varied levels of veterinary experience, mentorship and case discussion when managing more challenging medical and surgical cases. The hospital places a strong emphasis on continued professional development, with opportunities for veterinarians to expand their clinical skills.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
