Operations Associate

Our client, a highly-regarded private investment firm in Chicago, is seeking a sharp, highly organizedOperations Associate to play a critical role in portfolio support and capital recovery operations. In this role, you will take ownership of the follow-through on longer-term portfolio restructurings and capital deployment recoveries. Progress in these situations often involves navigating complex legal work, counterparties, court filings, and shifting priorities. You will serve as the operational backbone, ensuring that capital is systematically tracked, followed up on, and repaid after it is deployed, while keeping detailed momentum. Key Responsibilities Own the operational follow-through on deployed capital to ensure repayment and resolution across distressed or restructured portfolio assets. Coordinate moving pieces across complex, long-term restructurings involving legal counsel, external counterparties, and internal stakeholders. Maintain rigorous oversight of transaction documents, legal notices, and court filings associated with portfolio interventions. Design and manage detailed tracking systems to monitor milestones, deadlines, and action items, preventing issues from stalling or slipping through the cracks. Collaborate with finance and legal teams to support complex investment and fund structures as operational needs evolve. Requirements: 2–3 years of professional experience in operations, fund administration, venture capital operations, debt servicing, or a related analytical/operational function. Strong background in operational processes, ideally with exposure to complex investment or fund structures. Familiarity with reviewing and tracking transaction documents, contracts, and legal/court filings. Exceptional attention to detail with a proven ability to keep many complex, concurrent moving pieces meticulously organized. Thrives in fast-paced, unstructured environments where priorities shift and paths to resolution require proactive problem-solving.
