Overview

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily shipping, receiving, internal material movement, and trucking activities. This position coordinates shipments and deliveries, ensures schedules are met, maintains inventory accuracy, and provides leadership to shipping and receiving personnel while supporting company quality, safety, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

·         Supervise and coordinate daily shipping, receiving, material handling, and warehouse activities.

·          Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, trucking activities, and customer deliveries.

·          Ensure shipments are completed accurately and on time according to customer requirements.

·         Oversee inventory accuracy, material movement, storage, and shipping/receiving documentation.

·         Lead, train, and provide direction to shipping and receiving employees.

·         Coordinate with operations management, customers, carriers, and other departments to resolve shipping or inventory issues.

·          Monitor employee performance, workload, attendance, and adherence to established procedures.

·         Support forklift training and evaluate forklift operator performance as qualified.

·         Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, ISO/IATF, and customer-specific requirements.

·         Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

·         High school diploma or GED.

·         Minimum 2 years of shipping and receiving experience.

·         Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

·         Experience with inventory management, logistics, and production control.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable inventory/warehouse systems.

·         Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and safely operate material handling equipment as required.

Preferred

·         Some college or related technical education.

·         Automotive or manufacturing experience.

·         Experience with OEM portals, MIS/QSSI, and forklift Train-the-Trainer certification.

Physical & Safety Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials, operate around forklifts and warehouse equipment, and wear required eye, hearing, and other PPE.
