Shift/Schedule: As-Needed (PRN) | Shifts scheduled Monday through Friday from either 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and treatments to patients of all ages based on individual needs and provider orders.
• Administer oxygen therapy, respiratory medications, and airway clearance treatments.
• Monitor and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators to support patients with respiratory needs.
• Assess respiratory function, monitor vital signs, and perform diagnostic testing, including arterial blood gas (ABG) collection.
• Perform pulmonary function testing, EKGs, and other respiratory and cardiac monitoring procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations and assist with airway management, resuscitation, and life-saving interventions.
• Support outpatient diagnostic services, including home sleep studies, Holter monitoring, and overnight oximetry testing.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate safe, effective patient care.
• Assist with cardiac stress testing and other procedures as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required.

License(s)/Certification(s)

• Current Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required at time of hire.
