The Production Operator monitors and supports automated machinery that manufactures boxes for oil and tissue paper products. This role focuses on keeping production running smoothly by clearing jams, removing finished paper products, and hand stacking boxes on load formers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production machines that manufacture boxes for oil and tissue paper products to ensure consistent and efficient operation.

• Visually inspect machines and materials during production to identify jams, irregularities, or issues that may affect product quality or output.

• Safely clear paper and materials from machines when they become jammed, following established procedures.

• Hand stack finished boxes onto load formers in an organized and efficient manner to support continuous production flow.

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area around machines and load formers to support safety and efficiency.

• Follow all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while working around machinery in a manufacturing environment.

• Communicate promptly with team members and supervisors about any machine issues, material problems, or safety concerns.

• Adapt to production demands and work at a steady pace to meet daily production goals.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work in a manufacturing and production environment.

• Willingness to work in warm conditions and remain comfortable in a facility that can be hot, with spot cooling areas available.

• Capability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and hand stacking boxes.

• Attention to detail when monitoring machines and identifying jams or irregularities.

• Reliability and punctuality for assigned shifts in a 24-hour production operation.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures.

• Comfort working in an entry-level production role with on-the-job training provided.

• Entry-level qualifications with no prior manufacturing experience required.

• Interest in learning production and manufacturing processes.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility that operates multiple production lines creating boxes for oil and tissue paper products. The environment includes running machinery, continuous production activity, and requires working on your feet for most of the shift. The facility can be hot at times, and spot cooling areas are available to provide relief. There are three primary shifts available: 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Team members are expected to wear appropriate work attire suitable for a production floor and comply with all safety and protective equipment requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richland, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.27 - $18.27/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
