Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Registered Nurse – Pacu

Variable shifts between 8, 10, and 12 hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends/holidays.

Contract length: 13 weeks Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed

Requirements:

• Valid professional license within the state of practice
• 2+ years of experience as a critical care RN (ER & ICU experience may substitute for PACU nurse experience)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) credential recommended
• Other specialty-related certifications preferred (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC)

Roles & responsibilities:

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients in recovery after surgery.
• Monitor patients' vital signs including body temperature and assess incision sites for stability and potential complications.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate patient condition and intervene as necessary.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments and care provided.

Compliance / notes:

• Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required before contract start date.
• Arrival at the facility the Thursday before assignment start date is required for health clearance appointment on Friday.
