Salary grade 50L based on Negotiated Agreement Qualifications and Competencies Minimum of five years of experience at the fully qualified level in the fire alarm/low voltage field is mandatory. Possess a state fire alarm installer license, state fire alarm inspector license or NICET level II certification. License to inspect fire extinguishers. Demonstrated ability to use the computer as a maintenance level aide is mandatory. Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair fire alarm systems and components. Install fire alarm components. Inspect fire alarm systems. Inspect fire extinguishers. Repair and alter other low voltage systems. Trade related tasks as assigned by the Foreman, Maintenance Manager or Supervisor of Maintenance. Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by manager, foreman, and/or administrators as designated by the Superintendent. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Ability to climb ladders with tools and equipment weighing up to thirty pounds. Ability to lift items weighing up to seventy pounds. Ability to access equipment in constricted areas. Ability to pass functional assessment of physical abilities. Test will be arranged by OPS. Equipment Must always comply with OPS’s guidelines for equipment use. Travel Local travel will be required. Interrelations Contact with personnel within the district and with customers and vendors. Will be working under the direct supervision of the department supervisor in order to complete day‑to‑day tasks. Will be working with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy. Must understand and respond appropriately to customer needs and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleagues. Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service. Employee Punctuality and Appearance In order for schools and departments to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave. Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee’s supervisor or building administrator.
