Job Summary:
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role involves providing specialized care for adult and geriatric patients with critical cardiovascular conditions in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art environment. The nurse will be responsible for managing patients with complex cardiac diagnoses, utilizing advanced equipment and procedures, and adhering to best practices within the ICU setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Maryland RN license, BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications; 2 years of experience preferred; willingness to work rotating day/night shifts; experience with CVICU patients including IABP & Impella devices is highly desirable.
• Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS certification
• Float: Float within the cardiovascular ICU as needed, including to lower-acuity units and ICU settings.
• Additional Information: This position involves bedside procedures such as bedside central line insertions, chest tube insertion, Swan-Ganz catheter placement, and temperature management. Candidates must be comfortable managing complex cardiovascular devices such as Impella, VAD, and IABP, and proficient with critical care monitoring and interventions. Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, arrhythmias, MI, pulmonary hypertension, and post-transplant or LVAD patients. The unit offers interdisciplinary support, including respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
