Job Summary: Sunshine Terrace is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to our residents. With a commitment to excellence, we prioritize the well-being and comfort of those we serve. We have an immediate need for a PT to FT Shift Cook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, dietary requirements, and portion standards.
• Ensure that all meals are nutritious, appetizing, and meet dietary guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food storage areas.
• Monitor food inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Collaborate with dietary team members to plan menus and accommodate special dietary needs.
• Assist with special events and catering services as required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cook in a similar setting, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to accommodate special dietary needs.
• Understanding of food safety principles and regulations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Overall Scheduling Needs

• We pride ourselves in being able to reasonably accommodate our employees scheduling needs. In general, Shifts can range from 5:30 am to 1:00pm and from 1:00 pm to approx. 7:30 pm. Our staff understands that our residents need 24/7 care and are willing to work holidays and weekends on a rotating schedule .

QUALIFICATIONS

• Being on time. Absenteeism and late arrival to shifts are not tolerated.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Several months of related work experience.
• Willingness to learn and be trained.
• Requires Food Handlers permit or "ServSafe" certification within one month of hire.
• Requires excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
