As the leading provider of virtual fencing technology, Halter is on a mission to enable 50% of the world’s landmass to be more productive and sustainable. This role is paramount for our growth aspirations and will enable us to continue making an impact on ranches across the US. As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will play a critical role in driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within your designated territory. You will be responsible for executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and meeting ambitious growth targets, all while acting as Halter’s on‑the‑ground representative. This role requires a proactive and hands‑on approach, with a focus on both expansion and long‑term customer satisfaction. In this role, you will prioritize daily efforts that optimize performance and drive value for your customers. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, including Product, Support, and Customer Onboarding, you’ll share field insights to ensure Halter’s technology continues to meet the needs of US farmers. Typical day‑to‑day activities may include riding on horseback, helping customers gather their cattle, traveling on a side‑by‑side across pastures, discussing how Halter could benefit their operations, or attending industry events like CattleCon or local Livestock Association meet‑ups. This role covers the entire state of Ohio. Frequent travel is required as part of this role. What your day could look like Prospecting New Business: You’re driving up driveways, attending local cattle auctions, meeting with local Livestock, Cattleman’s, Stockman’s associations, building your new business pipeline through outbound lead generation. You’re fielding inbound leads in a timely manner, prioritizing administrative tasks with your in‑field activities. In‑Field Sales: You don’t mind getting your hands and boots dirty. Halter is best discussed over a coffee at a kitchen table, in the horse saddle, or on a side‑by‑side in a pasture. You’re out on the ranch helping potential customers before diving into the value of Halter. Expanding Existing Opportunities: You’re always looking for new opportunities, expanding existing customers with Halter, and finding new ways to increase value over time. Hitting Sales Targets: High‑growth sales targets don’t scare you; you step up to a challenge and aim to exceed them with expert pipeline management. Customer Account Management: After the sale, you maintain close relationships with your customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and address challenges with Halter’s products. Territory Ownership: You take pride in owning a territory, meeting stakeholders from local, state, and federal agencies to build lasting relationships with regional agricultural groups. Customer Onboarding: You oversee end‑to‑end onboarding and deployment, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation. Field Learnings & Feedback: You gather customer feedback in your territory and advocate for their needs. Collaborating with Support Teams: You work with partners across Halter to resolve customer issues and ensure full support. Attending Industry Events: You leverage relevant industry and Halter events to generate leads and deepen existing customer relationships. Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: You help optimize and evolve the sales process, contributing to greater efficiencies as the business scales. You’ll be great if you exhibit Driven Attitude & Communication Skills: Results‑driven, motivated, and adaptable, you excel in high‑stakes environments and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams. Ranching / Cattle Experience: You know the ropes of ranching or cattle operations, understanding the unique challenges of the industry. Sales & Customer Success Expertise: You have a strong history of creating new business opportunities, negotiating value‑based conversations, and building long‑term customer relationships. Territory Management Experience: Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology. Problem Solving & Collaboration Ability: Resourceful and quick‑thinking, you work well with cross‑functional teams to address challenges and drive solutions. Willingness to Travel: Frequent travel within your territory to engage with customers and prospects. Bonus things you could bring along to the role Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies. Background in customer‑facing roles within agriculture technology.
