Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity ICU position in North Richland Hills, TX, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active Texas RN license.

Details

• Night shift position, 7P-7A (19:00–07:00)
• 13-week contract
• ICU setting within a Magnet-designated, Beacon Award-winning unit at a Level III Trauma Center
• Very high acuity unit performing ECMO, heart transplants, CABG, and related cardiovascular procedures
• Procedures performed on unit via intensivist
• EMR system: Meditech (experience preferred)
• Rotating weekend schedule (every other weekend)
• Floating may be required to other ICUs based on volume and acuity; on rare occasions may float to the PCU
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active Texas RN license required — temp licenses are not accepted
• TX or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for ICU RNs
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, ventilated patients, and post-CABG care required
• CVICU experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Deliver bedside shift reports and maintain patient whiteboard updates
• Scrub color: Royal Blue for RNs
• Artificial nails (including gel and next-gen) are not permitted; nails must be clean and healthy
• Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer; no extreme styles or colors
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited (e.g., nose rings, tongue rings)
• Body art/tattoos should be covered whenever possible
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• First-time travelers are not explicitly approved for this role given the 2+ year experience requirement
