Shear Operator - Day Shift

Competitive pay Great work-life balance & family culture Company paid employee medical/dental/vision benefits 401(k) with company match Vacation - 1 week after 6 months, 1 week at a year, 2 weeks after 2 and 3 years, 3 weeks for years 4-9 and 4 weeks for 10+ years Sick leave - 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked 7 paid holidays Pay range $22.00 - $37.00 Primary Job Duties Inspect the shear and associated equipment for safety and mechanical condition prior to use and initiate the appropriate actions for any identified discrepancies Identify, select, and handle materials to be sheared per applicable procedures Identify customer requirements and approach product related activities from the customer’s perspective Identify inspection criteria Set-up and operate the shear to cut parts per the work order and all applicable procedures Finish, package and stage final products for shipment Complete required job forms, including associated nests and work order documentation Use the appropriate quality procedures and tools to initiate the management of discrepancies and opportunities for improvement Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in the metals industry operating hydraulic shears Safety conscious and quality oriented Familiar with set up procedures for shearing different sizes and grades of metals Ability to decipher blue prints, drawings and sketches Ability to read a tape measure, calipers and micrometers Forklift and overhead crane experience Our Company is an Equal Employment Opportunity Company.
