Job Title Registered Nurse – PACU Location Wausau, WI | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | Variable 4x10s with start times of 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM Key Responsibilities Provide post-anesthesia recovery care in a 14-bay PACU unit with a 1:2 patient ratio, supporting approximately 35 patients per day Manage post-operative recovery for a broad range of surgical cases including general, spine and neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, peripheral vascular, and orthopedic procedures Stabilize ICU-level patients prior to transfer to the ICU Participate in on-call rotation: one night per week for 4 out of every 6 weeks, plus every 5th weekend; 30-minute response time required ; call shift start time is 11:00 AM; callback minimum is 2 hours Adhere to facility infection control policies, including mandatory masking requirements for staff who decline flu and COVID vaccination during flu season Document patient care accurately using electronic charting systems Required Qualifications Active Wisconsin RN License AHA BLS Certification ACLS Certification PALS Certification Minimum 2 years of PACU experience with recent hospital experience Experience with post-cardiac and pediatric patient populations required Preferred Experience / Skills Epic EMR experience strongly preferred; candidates without Epic experience must have prior electronic charting experience Familiarity with a high-volume, multi-specialty PACU environment Experience stabilizing and preparing ICU-level patients for unit transfer Why Join Us Exposure to a diverse, high-acuity surgical caseload including cardiac, neuro, spine, and pediatric cases in a well-established PACU setting Expected 40 hours per week with up to 36 low-census hours available per contract period; callback pay applicable if called back in during low-census periods Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 792000.
