Position Details Position Title: EPIDEMIOLOGIST Position Number: 8151028 Work Modality: Hybrid – 3 In-Person Job Category: University Staff Job Type: Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt Department: PUBLIC HEALTH SCIENCES Department, Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health Location: Maywood-Health Sciences Campus Open Date: 05/14/2026 Position Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 per annum Duties and Responsibilities We have an immediate opening for an Epidemiologist position in Dr. Fares Qeadan’s research team. The role involves leading and supporting research, data analysis, manuscript preparation, grant applications, and collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in epidemiological methods, passion for public health research, and experience in mentoring junior analysts. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and research team to design and conduct epidemiological studies. Perform statistical analyses using advanced methodologies to interpret complex public health data. Ensure accurate data management and representation. Assist in the preparation of grants and progress reports. Collaborate on the writing, reviewing, and editing of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Assist in the preparation of presentations for national and international conferences. Work closely with multidisciplinary team members to achieve research objectives. Provide support and mentorship to junior researchers and graduate students as needed. Manage and lead the analysis of complex datasets, including those from complex survey design and ecological data, using advanced statistical techniques in SAS and R. Oversee data management processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of datasets. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in large datasets to generate actionable insights for public health research. Minimum Education and Experience PhD degree required in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in biostatistics and/or epidemiology. Qualifications Proficiency in SAS and R; experience with electronic health record data analysis is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to write manuscripts and grant proposals. Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment. Experience in mentoring junior researchers and students. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects, compiling reports and presentations. Computer Skills Advanced proficiency in SAS, R, STATA, and/or SPSS. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Familiarity with data management tools and applications.
