Principal Embedded Software Engineer

This is your opportunity to join the Receiver/ Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Department as a Principal Embedded Software Engineer. The department's primary goal is to design, develop, and support land and sea-based radar systems. We are looking for a unique engineer to enhance the sustainability of our current radar products. The ideal candidate will have experience in legacy radar hardware and software technologies, with an interest and ability to transition these products to current technologies while maintaining and troubleshooting and patching our deployed systems.

What You Will Do:

• Support sustainment of legacy radar systems, to involve troubleshooting, maintenance, and patching.
• Port legacy Unix and VxWorks software to modern Linux systems or identify replacements.
• Support software integration, testing, and verification.
• This 1st shift role will be 100% onsite and based in Marlborough, MA.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Embedded C/C++ and/or Ada software development experience.
• Experience developing on VxWorks and Linux/Unix platforms.
• The ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with version control systems such as Git or ClearCase.
• Experience in shell scripting (e.g., Bash or C Shell).
• Experience working with VME bus-based systems.
• Radar domain experience.
• Active / Existing Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
