Job Summary:
Medical Surgical With Telemetry (MS TELE) Registered Nurse (RN) Newburgh, Indiana. The role supports the Neuro Cardiac Unit by caring for complex Med/Surg/Tele patients, including postcardiac caths with interventions and recovery needs, CVA/TIA, ICD, complex abdominal surgeries, oncology, and craniotomy post-operative care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour Days shifts (6:30 AM7:00 AM); minimum 36 hours per week; three weekends out of every six week schedule; every other holiday.
• Required Qualifications: Associate Degree or Certificate; current active compact license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; recent Electronic Patient Information (EPIC) charting experience (may require a checkoff class); strong Tele/Med/Surg assessment and critical thinking skills; Telemetry and 12-lead electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation (tele test required); initiate and titrate drips (including insulin, cardiac medications, and heparin); heart cath recovery (femoral access and TR bands); required Neuro skills including National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and dysphagia screening.
• Preferred Qualifications: Skills such as NG/PEG tube experience, peripherally inserted intravenous (PIV) insertion, Tikosyn experience, and chest tube experience.
• Float: Float: First to float within skillset; may require cross-campus floating within the unit; 2-hour notice provided for cross-campus float; mid-shift float may be required within the same campus.
• Additional Information: This position is in a Neuro Cardiac Unit MS/Telemetry environment and may require precepting of students and new hires. Covid-19 vaccination is not required (subject to change). Three call-ins can result in termination. Interview days are Monday through Friday, and the interview type is MS/Telemetry (MSP) Interview.
