Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TGS Talent Acquisition Team requires: The Senior Software Developer is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for designing, building, deploying, modernizing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions across client and internal initiatives. This role requires strong Python development expertise, strong AWS experience, full-stack delivery capability, and practical React experience. The developer should bring reusable senior engineering fundamentals, strong ownership, and the ability to contribute across backend services, frontend applications, integrations, DevOps practices, cloud-native delivery, and production support. Senior Developers are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, contribute to architectural and technical decisions, mentor less-senior engineers, and actively improve delivery, reliability, and operational excellence across teams. U.S. citizenship is required for this role. Core Responsibilities • Design, implement, test, and maintain production grade software systems aligned with business and technical requirements. • Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, estimation, development, testing, deployment, and support. • Actively participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision making, providing clear rationale and trade off analysis. • Build and maintain reliable, secure, and performant applications in cloud based environments. • Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, DevOps, and other engineers to deliver complete solutions. • Mentor junior and mid level developers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance. • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, including automation, CI/CD, testing, and operational maturity. Technical Profile - Required Strengths Software Engineering Expertise • Strong Python development expertise is required, including the ability to build and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, automation, and data-oriented application components. • Demonstrated ability to design clean, maintainable, well-tested codebases, including strong familiarity with automated testing, unit and integration test strategy, and production-quality implementation. • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including: o Data structures and algorithms o API design and integration o Modular and layered architectures o Performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability considerations • Ability to apply core engineering practices across varied business domains, technical architectures, and delivery environments. Application Breadth • Full-stack capability is required, with practical experience across: o Backend services, APIs, integrations, business logic, and data access o React-based frontend development, including component-based UI work, integration with backend APIs, and collaboration with UX/product stakeholders • Candidates should be able to work effectively across the application stack, while bringing senior-level ownership to design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support. DevOps & Delivery Practices • Strong experience with modern DevOps practices, including: o CI/CD pipelines o Infrastructure as Code (IaC) o Automated testing and deployment o Observability, logging, and monitoring • Familiarity with tools and platforms such as: o Git, CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) o Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) • A mindset focused on operability, reliability, and automation, not just code delivery. Cloud Platform Experience • Strong AWS experience is required, including practical experience designing, deploying, operating, and modernizing applications in AWS-based environments. • Experience designing, deploying, and operating applications in cloud environments, including: o Networking, security, and identity concepts o Managed services such as compute, storage, databases, messaging, and integration services o Cost awareness, scalability, resilience, observability, and operational support considerations • Familiarity with additional cloud platforms is a plus, but AWS depth is required. AI Skills & Tool Usage • Demonstrated experience using AI assisted development tools to improve productivity, quality, and learning (e.g., code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation). • Basic familiarity with AI enabled application patterns, such as: o Integrating hosted AI services or APIs o Using AI for data processing, search, or automation use cases • Ability to evaluate AI tools pragmatically, understanding benefits, limitations, and responsible use within enterprise and client contexts. • Willingness to continuously upskill as AI tooling and platforms evolve Professional Expectations • Owns complex and/or ambiguous features end to end, drives technical decisions within scope, and mentors others through that ambiguity. • Communicates clearly with both technical and non technical stakeholders. • Comfortable working across multiple projects or domains as GE NA demand shifts. • Balances delivery speed with code quality, stability, and long term maintainability. • Contributes positively to team culture and knowledge sharing. • U.S. citizenship is required to support security, compliance, and access-control requirements. Experience & Education • Typically 7+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent demonstrated capability. • Professional experience with Python, AWS, and React is required. • Demonstrated ability to contribute across multiple projects, business domains, and technology contexts. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience. • Relevant technical certifications, especially AWS, DevOps, software engineering, or full-stack development certifications, are a plus but not required.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hanover, MD.

The pay range for this position is $91700.00 - $137500.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
