The Graphic Designer collaborates within a dynamic creative team and is responsible for executing creative design projects across various mediums, including web, digital, motion, and print, to enhance Stetson University's brand. The ideal candidate should possess a strong conceptual ability and solid design fundamentals, ensuring that creative deliverables align with marketing strategies and objectives. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND REPSONSIBILITIES: Timely creation of storyboards for photoshoots, videos, social media content, and instructional materials. Effective problem-solving and translation of ideas into visually compelling print and electronic media. Works collaboratively under the guidance of the Marketing AVP, providing design expertise across different departments. Confidently presents the institutional brand to the public and internal community while maintaining consistency across media channels. Provides design from inception to completion, translating ideas to both print and electronic media. Understanding of digital design for social media outreach. Collaborates with the internal creative department and marketing communication team. Stays current with design trends and standards, integrating them into graphic design for digital and print. Positive attitude, contributing to group creative discussions. Thrives on creative storytelling through media and meets individual design goals in a fast-paced environment. Works cooperatively with a team to accomplish departmental goals and meet established deadlines. Assists VP/AVP with special projects as assigned. Creates reports and spreadsheets as requested. Photography Skills Requirement: The Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role in capturing the essence of Stetson University through photography. This includes taking high-quality photos for various university events, marketing materials, and social media platforms. Approximately 30% of the job involves actively participating in photoshoots, with an emphasis on image composition, lighting, and post-production editing. Proficiency in photo editing software is essential to ensure the creation of visually compelling and cohesive imagery that aligns with the university's brand identity. Required Skills Strong communication skills with a solid understanding of advertising principles, design best practices, typography, web and media trends, and marketing strategy. Understanding of web trends and basic HTML/CSS skills for active participation in web design and web graphic creation. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Mac platform. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Premiere, and/or Final Cut Pro. Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment and work well within a multidisciplinary team. Expertise with both raster and vector-based graphics, including the creation, retouching, and editing of photographic and illustrative imagery. Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience. At least 5 years of graphic design and/or art direction experience in an agency or in-house marketing department. Ideal Candidate Qualifications : The ideal candidate’s qualifications for this role include: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in executing successful design projects across various mediums (web, digital, motion, print). Proven track record of working collaboratively within a creative team. Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with Mac platform and Microsoft Office Suite. Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for active participation in web design.
