REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)

• Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube

Preferred

• Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, with foreign body removal, with fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), with injection of varices)
• ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) (Diagnostic, Therapeutic, With PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy))
• Esophageal dilatation/manometry
• Esophageal manometry interpretation
• Small Bowel biopsy
• Lower GI endoscopy
• Sigmoidoscopy

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Board: Board Certified required
  
• Licenses: Licensed in NM
  
• DEA: DEA required (must be dedicated to NM)
  
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
  
• Fellowship: Preferred
  
• Other Qualifications: Clean background required for temporary privileges
  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient GI rounding daily from 7a to 7p
  
• Perform advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP and EUS
  
• Take beeper call from Monday 7a to Monday 7a, responding promptly to calls
  
• Manage inpatient admissions and assigned patients with higher acuity gastrointestinal conditions
  
• Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure continuity of care during coverage weeks
