Orthopedic Physical Therapist

Role Overview: The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, restore function, and prevent disability following disease or injury. Key responsibilities include designing personalized therapy programs using exercises, manual techniques, heat, water, and electrical modalities; conducting diagnostic and functional tests on muscles, nerves, and joints; guiding patients through active and passive exercises, gait training, and muscle re-education; and instructing patients on postural control and use of assistive devices. Additionally, the therapist performs initial and re-evaluations, documents patient progress, supervises support staff, and participates in training students and staff in therapy techniques. Qualifications & Skills: A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) is required after certain dates. Candidates must be licensed as a Physical Therapist, with required certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS). Preferred certifications include Pelvic Health. Experience expectations include a specified number of years and types of experience in physical therapy. Strong knowledge of therapy techniques, equipment operation, patient care, and documentation is essential.
