Work Environment

This is a fully remote position, allowing you the flexibility to work from your home while maintaining productivity and balance. You will have the option to choose a schedule that fits your lifestyle, with both full-time (30+ hours per week) and part-time (5+ hours per week) opportunities available. Utilizing a user-friendly counseling platform, you will conduct your sessions via secure video chat, ensuring continuity of care while minimizing the need for paperwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized mental health counseling sessions primarily through video chat, adhering to established ethical standards and best practices.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of clients to gauge their progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Facilitate the development of new coping mechanisms, problem-solving techniques, and communication skills to empower clients in overcoming their challenges.
• Maintain up-to-date records of client interactions and treatment progress in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the organization to ensure holistic treatment approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role is primarily on stable, low-acuity adults who are seeking support for various mental health challenges. You will engage with clients from diverse backgrounds, addressing issues ranging from anxiety and mild depression to stress management and transitional life challenges. Your ability to build rapport and trust will be crucial in helping clients navigate their mental health journeys effectively.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is required.
• A current and valid license in the state of Kansas as LCMFT, LCPC, LCSW, or PsyD.
• Ability to provide independent, unsupervised counseling services.
• No history of disciplinary actions on your license.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in using digital platforms for communication.
• A reliable and stable internet connection to facilitate seamless virtual counseling sessions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a community health setting is advantageous.
• Familiarity with treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) will be beneficial.
• Previous experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural competency in therapy.
