Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized cardiac critical care in a fast-paced hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex patient cases, including post-operative cardiovascular ICU patients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive cardiac ICU nursing care for critically ill patients.
• Admit patients directly from the operating room and manage overflow cases.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, hemodynamic stability, and patient vital signs.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Document patient care accurately and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
• Float within scope to other units such as Radiology or affiliate hospitals as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Maryland or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in staff CVICU or cardiac ICU nursing.
• Be trained in cardiac care and capable of admitting patients straight from the OR.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSSC, and CALS.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
