Registered Nurse (RN) | Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Location: Towson, MD Agency: Prime Staffing Pay: $2,420 per week Shift Information: Night shifts, 3 days × 12 hours (19:00 – 07:30) Contract Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 7/20/2026 About the Position We are seeking a qualified CVICU RN to join our team in Towson, MD. The role involves night shifts covering post‑operative cardiac surgery patients and managing complex ICU cases within a 6‑bed unit with an average census of 3‑5 patients. The unit handles common diagnoses including post‑op cardiac surgery (CABG, MVR, AVR), read‑missions, structural heart procedures, TAVR, mitral clips, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, and related interventions. You will be involved in critical care tasks such as arterial line and central line management, ventilator support, ECMO care, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and other advanced cardiovascular therapies. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a 6‑bed CVICU unit during nights Manage post‑operative cardiac patients, including inotropic support and hemodynamic monitoring Administer medications and IV therapy, including blood products Utilize advanced cardiac monitoring (ECG, arterial blood gas, venous access) Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams (ICU, pharmacy, respiratory, surgery) Participate in patient safety initiatives and documentation using Epic Float to MSICU as required and cover rotating on‑call hours (24‑32 hours per 8‑week schedule) Adhere to shift and weekend coverage requirements per schedule protocol Qualifications & Requirements Current RN license in MD or a Compact state Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU or cardiovascular intensive care Proficiency in Epic (or equivalent charting system) Certification: ACLS, BLS, CPI; preferred NIHSS, OCN, TNCC Abilities: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, ECMO, CRRT, IABP, Impella, TAVR procedures, post‑op cardiac care, acute renal failure, sedation, infection control, PPE compliance Capacity to work nights, 3 days per week, and float as required Willingness to work rotating call schedule (24–32 hours on 8‑week shift) Benefits & Work Conditions Prime Staffing is the staffing agency for this assignment.
