Certifications: Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card

Prefer cross-sectional anatomy experience or MRI experience


Description:
Following established protocols and under medical supervision, MRI Technologists will perform imaging procedures for interpretation.
Technologists will assist radiologists as needed and supervise student MRI Technologists assigned to them.
Responsible for the care and safety of patients during imaging procedures utilizing age-appropriate care.
The technologist will ensure the correct written order for procedures is obtained.
Efficiency in patient care assignments is essential while meeting work quality and timeliness expectations.
Technologists will assist in the clinical education of student technologists.
Efficient utilization of imaging equipment is required, with an emphasis on minimizing repeat examinations.
The technologist must use supplies with attention to cost containment.
Instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures, and assist in obtaining informed consent as needed.
Ensure patient understanding of procedures and communicate with family members regarding discharge instructions.
Communicate effectively with the radiologist regarding procedures, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.
Ensure correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical history are entered into the computer system.
Adhere to safety policies and procedures while practicing good radiation protection.
Complete annual mandatory in-services and maintain current licensure requirements.
Participate in department efforts to meet established projects and goals.
Maintain the confidentiality of medical and sensitive information.
Assist other members of the imaging team as needed and demonstrate flexibility and accountability in job duties.
Take the initiative towards improving departmental operations and offer solutions consistently.
Ability to operate standard office equipment.
Requires frequent standing, walking, and moving of patients.
Must be able to lift, move, or carry up to 50 lbs as needed.
Frequent use of finger and hand dexterity, as well as reaching with hands and arms, is required.
Corrected hearing and vision to normal range is necessary.
Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and possible infectious materials is inherent in this role.
Requires frequent exposure to the risk of radiation, with intermittent exposure to toxic chemicals.
Work under stressful conditions and meet deadlines or irregular hours as needed.
May be required to work weekends and holidays based on department needs.
