Plumbing Design Lead

Well established Architecture and Engineering firm in Raleigh is looking for a Plumbing Design Lead to join their growing studio.

Responsibilities

• Support Engineers and Client Engagement: Assist engineers in the design process, attend meetings with clients, consultants, and design committees, and actively contribute to improving design processes within the team.
• Lead Design and Documentation: Take the lead in planning, designing, and preparing high-quality project documentation, including working drawings. Ensure projects are executed through all design and construction phases.
• Client and Consultant Coordination: Present designs to clients and ensure seamless coordination with other disciplines and external consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor junior designers, providing guidance and leadership through hands-on project work. Support their professional growth and ensure high-quality design output.
• Project Ownership and Deadline Management: Own smaller projects or key components of larger projects. Manage personal and team resources to meet project deadlines while staying within budgetary constraints.
• Collaboration and Process Improvement: Work closely with other team members to improve overall design processes, fostering collaboration across disciplines for optimal project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant technical qualification.
• 15+ years of experience, with a focus on healthcare, education, or research sectors preferred.
• Strong design, communication, leadership, and detail-oriented skills.
• Knowledge of building codes and advanced math principles.
• Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office, and Google Apps.
• Ability to manage and collaborate within a team.
