Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of high-risk telemetry experience and ACLS/BLS certification.

Job Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a 40-bed unit within a 222-bed Magnet acute care hospital,
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15),
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6,
• Every other weekend required, with an expectation of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule,
• No on-call requirements,
• Float required within scope to all inpatient units across both campuses,
• EPIC charting system required,
• Cardiac drip management, sheath pulls, and central line management required,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license required,
• ACLS and BLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with strong cardiac background,
• High-risk telemetry experience required,
• Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, cardiac drip management (no titration), sheath removal, and pre/post cardiac surgery care,
• Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care,
• Additional skills required include isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring,

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post-cardiac procedure care,
• Navy scrub color required,
• No parking costs,
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted,
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment,
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position,
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to this health system as a traveler,
• Standard travelers may stay for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
