Job Title: SQL Database Administrator – Level 3 Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local The Opportunity CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator (Level 3) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of SQL Server architecture, both on‑premises and in the cloud, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing complex SQL databases. This role requires a deep understanding of high availability systems, database security, and recovery processes. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases both on‑premises and in the cloud. Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and other best practices. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place. Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Manage SQL databases in cloud environments, focusing on Microsoft Azure. Migrate on‑premises databases to the cloud and vice versa as needed. Utilize Azure services to enhance database performance and security. Monitor database performance and health using various tools. Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and patch management. Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related issues in a timely manner. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies. Generate reports on database performance, security, and compliance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5–7 years of experience in SQL database administration. In‑depth understanding of SQL Server architecture, both on‑premises and in the cloud. Proven experience designing, implementing, and optimizing complex SQL databases. Strong background in high availability systems and database security. Certifications: Security+ CE, Microsoft SQL Administration Certified, Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate. TS/SCI Clearance.
