Supply Chain Director

Job Purpose In this strategic role, frequent interaction will be required with manufacturing, engineering supply chain, and sales leadership in generating a high-level Master Production Schedules and planning for all sites and value streams within the organization. The criticality in understanding the business strategy and developing multiple scenarios of MPS planning that will consider manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and sales input to optimize production schedules that can be executed to the annual budget plan. The leader of strategic planning and scheduling will manage the master scheduling processes and all of the required details in loading the agreed upon production schedules into the business system and reporting our results on a frequent basis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Advise manufacturing, supply chain, and sales of capacity or material issues that will impact the project schedule or the MPS. Identify opportunities and develop work around plans cross functionally to ensure the least amount of impact occurs to existing production schedules and attaining desired results. Lead SIOP meetings as outlined by the organization, and work to adjust as decided upon. Work in sync with production planning on the execution of the Master Production Schedule. Serve as an internal expert and educator on master scheduling issues providing education and training throughout the company to improve any company – wide understanding of MPS functions. Create and update key metrics as required, notably the Available to Promise weekly and ensure that daily schedule attainment results are communicated. Ensure that a master production schedule based on firm customer orders and forecast using planning BOM’s and production plan is assembled. Review and ensure that the Master Production Schedule is maintained on a consistent basis and in a timely manner. Using the MPS, manage the manpower plan to support manufacturing. Ensure that the production load in maintaining the material requirements planning (MRP) and demand time fences are properly maintained. Manage and oversee the responsibilities of the work order processor and the routing functions of the company. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, and accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy. Review and ensure that the Master Production Schedule is current and updated in a timely manner, and all required changes are executed as outlined. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Process supplements. Ensure that “TA” job files and serial masters. Maintain long-term MRP calendar and forecasts. Generate and distribute available to promise and dealer completion list. Measure performance against final assembly schedule and prepare data for reviews and provide specific requested reported as requested by senior leadership. While this functions reports into Supply Chain, the ability to work cross functionally with peer leadership is mission critical. Other duties may be assigned as required by the Company. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 8-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with master scheduling experience. 3-5 years’ experience in managing direct reports Working knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP systems, quality/continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing safety practices, and MS Office application Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain functions. Understanding of materials and lead times. Strong cross-functional leadership skills. Strong analytical skills. Managing confidential information and communicating as required Understanding of capacity planning and resource planning.
