The Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager owns the planning and execution of operational improvement projects across Production, Fulfillment, Supply Chain, and Mixing. This hands-on role combines strong project management with Lean problem-solving to improve quality, reduce waste, and deliver measurable business results.

You will translate improvement opportunities into clear project plans, lead cross-functional teams, and remain accountable for delivery through implementation and verification of results. You will work closely with frontline employees and leaders to build practical processes that teams understand, use, and sustain. The initial focus is executing the existing Operational Excellence plan while helping shape future priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management and Execution

• Lead multiple cross-functional projects from opportunity identification and business justification through implementation, handoff, and verification of results.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, success measures, milestones, resource needs, and estimated costs with project sponsors and functional leaders.
• Build and maintain project plans that identify task owners, deadlines, dependencies, and risks; coordinate resources and hold owners accountable for commitments.
• Run project meetings, maintain action and decision logs, remove barriers, and escalate risks or resource conflicts early with recommended solutions.
• Manage changes to scope and schedules, communicate trade-offs, and secure alignment on revised commitments before implementation.
• Maintain a prioritized improvement pipeline based on business impact, feasibility, risk, and available resources. Provide clear status updates to leadership.
• Own the improvement portfolio and recommend project priorities, sequencing, and resource allocation based on business impact, risk, and capacity. Present progress, decisions needed, and recovery plans to leadership.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

• Partner with Operations and quality stakeholders to identify recurring defects, process variation, rework, and customer quality issues; lead projects that address their root causes.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive actions, assign owners and deadlines, and verify that actions are effective and prevent recurrence.
• Develop and improve standard operating procedures, standard work, and process controls with functional owners. Ensure project handoffs include updated documentation and employee training.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Toyota Production System principles to improve workflow, productivity, and process consistency.
• Lead Kaizen events and focused improvement efforts, including projects that extend across several weeks. Use tools such as 5 Whys, process mapping, 5S, and Plan-Do-Check-Act.
• Spend time on the floor observing work, listening to employees, and validating opportunities with process data. Ensure changes support safe work practices and product quality.

Change Leadership and Team Development

• Manage cross-functional project teams, set clear expectations, delegate work, and hold project owners accountable for results. Coach team members and partner with their managers to address performance barriers.
• Engage employees in identifying waste and designing solutions; address resistance and build ownership of new ways of working.
• Deliver Lean basics and root cause analysis training across the Operations team. Coach employees on project charters, waste observations, problem-solving, and business justifications.
• Work with functional leaders to reinforce new processes through daily management routines, visual measures, and follow-up reviews.

Performance and Accountability

• Develop the annual quality and continuous improvement roadmap and cost reduction targets with the VP of Operations. Own execution against agreed goals and report quarterly and annual results.
• Establish baselines and project measures such as defects, rework, scrap, throughput, cycle time, and labor productivity. Validate savings and cost avoidance with Finance.
• Complete post-implementation reviews to confirm benefits are sustained, identify remaining gaps, and document lessons learned.

Success in this role means projects meet agreed commitments, improvements deliver verified benefits, quality issues recur less often, and employees consistently use the improved processes. Leadership will establish specific targets based on operational baselines and business priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, quality, or a related field, or relevant military experience in place of the degree requirement.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, operations, quality, or continuous improvement, including at least 3 years managing cross-functional improvement projects with accountability for delivery and results.
• Strong, demonstrated project management experience owning multiple cross-functional projects from planning through completion—ability to explain personal accountability for scope, schedules, resources, risks, and measurable outcomes.
• A record of implementing Lean or continuous improvement practices and delivering sustained improvements in cost, quality, productivity, or delivery.
• Verifiable certification or formal training in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, Kaizen facilitation, or a related continuous improvement discipline.
• Experience using root cause analysis, process data, and corrective actions to solve operational problems.
• Demonstrated change leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills, with the ability to influence employees and leaders across functions.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with spreadsheets, presentations, project tracking tools, and ERP or operational systems.
• Clear communication with frontline employees and senior leaders, including the ability to explain project status, risks, and business results.
• Ability to work onsite in Round Rock, Texas, and authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience directly managing a team, including setting goals, delegating work, coaching employees, and managing performance.
• Project Management Professional certification or equivalent formal project management training; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience in consumer packaged goods, mixing, packaging, or fulfillment operations.
• Experience with quality assurance processes, quality audits, and tiered daily management.

This position is based onsite in Round Rock, TX, at the new Wondercide headquarters.  Must be able to work onsite.
