Work Environment
This position is designed to be fully remote, allowing flexibility while maintaining a strong connection with our interdisciplinary team and clients through digital communication tools. Although primarily remote, occasional in-person meetings may be scheduled for team collaboration if required. Our outpatient model emphasizes accessibility, empowering patients to engage with their therapy at their own pace and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ history and determine appropriate treatment approaches, ensuring each assessment is detailed and thorough.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique recovery journey, promoting resilience and coping strategies.
- Employ proven therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), integrating evidence-based interventions to enhance treatment effectiveness.
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe space for patients to express and process their traumatic experiences, thus fostering emotional healing.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, integrated care for each patient, coordinating multi-disciplinary approaches for better health outcomes.
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support in response to trauma-related emergencies, ensuring timely assistance and resources are made available to those in distress.
- Educate patients and families about trauma responses, helping them understand coping mechanisms and available resources to enhance their recovery process.
- Document each patient's treatment progress accurately, maintaining confidentiality and adherence to all ethical and legal standards.
- Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings, contributing to a collaborative environment focused on enhancing trauma-informed care.
- Stay abreast of advancements in trauma therapy through continuous professional development, integrating new insights into your practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be individuals affected by trauma, including survivors of violent events or abuse, military veterans experiencing PTSD, and those coping with dissociative disorders. Your role is crucial in guiding these clients through their therapeutic journeys, employing innovative strategies tailored to their unique situations.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current, valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) within the state of Texas.
- A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, preferably focused on trauma treatment.
- A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities, along with a commitment to resilience-building approaches.
- Proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions, implementing evidence-based practices effectively.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills that foster a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to client care.
- The ability to maintain calmness during high-stress situations, providing stability for clients in need.
- Competence with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications, ensuring accurate record-keeping and patient management.
- A collaborative spirit, ready to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with additional experience in trauma-informed care or specialized training in techniques like EMDR or TF-CBT will be especially valued.
Compensation and Benefits
