Medical Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility, located in St. Cloud, FL 34769. This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation!

Specific Duties:

• Collects patient assessment data to include height, weight, vital signs, chief complaint/symptoms, and current medications for assessment by licensed staff
• Prepares the patient for provider evaluation by obtaining specimens, positioning for exams, listing medications, and assisting during exams and procedures
• Maintains work area, exam treatment, and lab in a clean, safe manner; restock with supplies as needed
• Assists with lab procedures by collecting urine specimens, collecting and preparing blood samples for the reference lab, labelling all specimens with accurate patient ID as ordered by the physician
• Documents patient information in the medical record to include updated treatment procedures, medication refills, test results, and patient concerns, etc.
• Assists and processes all scripts, referrals, and authorisations as needed
• Manages flow of patient care, while ensuring phones are being answered, and appointments are as efficient as possible
• Schedules patients for injections and infusions
• Orders supplies and medications. Check both into and out of inventory
• Performs diagnostic testing procedures

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of preferred experience
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• Bilingual- English/Spanish

Must have qualifications/experience:

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Basic computer literacy required, with intermediate Excel skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology required
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies is required
• Good communication and customer service skills are required

Location: 1000 E. Irlo Bronson Mem Hwy, St. Cloud, FL 34769
Job Type: 3+ months contract to Hire
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Shift start & end times: 8:00 am to 5:00 PM
Workdays per week: 5 days
Pay Range: $20-23/hrs. on W2 without benefits
