Piping Designer

Genesis is seeking an Entry to Mid-Level Piping Designerwith experience using AutoCAD Plant 3Dto support industrial engineering and design projects for a long term contract opportunity inMobile, Alabama. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in piping design, a solid understanding of engineering drawings and P&IDs, and hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D. This position is well suited for a recent graduate, junior designer, or piping designer looking to develop their skills in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Create piping layouts, plans, orthographic drawings, and isometric drawings.
• Interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, and engineering drawings.
• Assist with routing process and utility piping.
• Model piping components, valves, fittings, equipment, and related items.
• Generate piping isometrics, material takeoffs, and bills of materials.
• Assist senior designers and engineers with design development and revisions.
• Coordinate piping layouts with mechanical, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate engineering and client comments.
• Assist with field verification and development of as-built drawings when required.
• Maintain accurate drawings and 3D models in accordance with project standards.
• Work with project teams to meet design schedules and deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical degree, certificate, or equivalent experience in drafting, CAD, engineering technology, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of relevant piping design or CAD experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3Dthrough employment, internship, school, or project work.
• Basic understanding of piping systems and P&IDs.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with piping components such as pipe, valves, fittings, and flanges.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.
