Environmental Service Worker; Day Shift

Job Summary The Environmental Service Worker maintains a clean, sanitary, and orderly facility environment; keeps a daily QI log. The Environmental Service Worker reports directly to the Director of Environmental Service. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or higher preferred. Licensure/Certification: None. Work Experience: On the job training. Responsibilities / Job Duties Clean surgery, outpatient, inpatient, public areas, and offices by cleaning vertical and horizontal surfaces; occasional light maintenance duties. Clean draperies, cubicles, and blinds. Maintain floors by dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, running an auto scrubber, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets. Maintain and organize all floor care equipment, cleaning carts, trash carts, and other equipment. Remove and transport regular waste and infectious waste, disposing in the proper method; remove and transport soil linen and place it in the proper receptacle. Document procedures involved in the disposal of hospital waste products, ensuring the correct procedure in line with the hospital’s standard practice is followed. Respond to code red, code green, code pink, and other emergency situations. Perform other duties as assigned.
