Mechanical Designer

Position Summary The Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing 3D models and drawing packages for complex electromechanical parts and assemblies. Experienced with SolidWorks or similar CAD packages, this role requires a working knowledge of design, drafting, and manufacturing techniques. Responsibilities include developing accurate drawing packages and BOM releases for new or updated designs and overseeing the development, implementation, review, and approval of engineering documents. Work Schedule Monday‑Friday (7:30 am – 4:00 pm) plus overtime. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare technical drawings, design layouts, and technical concept models. Verify engineering design documentation. Assist in design concepts and conduct manufacturability reviews. Support the IPT design team in a leadership or supporting role. Implement engineering design changes. Manage new product item masters and BOM structures. Required Skills and Abilities Strong background as a Mechanical Designer. Knowledge of materials, parts, and processes. Knowledge of manufacturing and machining techniques. Knowledge of drawing standards and GD&T system (ASME Y14.5). Knowledge of basic Mil‑Specs and MIL‑STDs. Expertise in CAD design. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and quality. Ability to follow direction. Self‑starter capable of working independently or in a team environment. Education and Experience An associate’s degree in Mechanical Design (or related field) or relevant experience (preferred). One year certificate in Industrial Technology or related field will be considered.
