SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Transports redi-mix concrete from batch plants to customer job sites and unloads materials.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Positioning truck under batch plant to be loaded Standing on catwalks and filling water tank Checking slump of load Picking up printed delivery ticket Delivering load to job site Working with customers to obtain vehicle access to job site Unloading materials Lifting, carrying and attaching chutes weighing up to 50 pounds Communicating with dispatcher using two-way radio system Making judgments about the accessibility of off road terrain Rinsing chutes and truck to remove spilled concretePerforming pre-trip vehicle safety inspections Maintaining a clean vehicle Reporting any maintenance requirements Maintaining required record keeping Providing exceptional customer service QUALIFICATIONS (Skills, knowledge, experience) Ability to read and write Commercial driver license with minimum of a “B” endorsement with air brakes Ability to understand oral and written instructions Good driving record Ability to read a map and follow directions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Climbing in and out of a truck 20/30 times per day Climbing a ladder on the back of truck 10/20 times per day Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds Driving a vehicle Walking, sitting, standing for extended periods of time Note: This job description may not cover all duties and requirements and may include additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
