CustodianFLSA STATUS:Non-ExemptQUALIFICATIONS:High School DiplomaCommercial Driver's License with P&S endorsementCPR CertificationMust pass annual physical, alcohol and drug test and safety trainingDemonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilitiesArizona Fingerprint Clearance CardREPORTS TO:Facilities DirectorJOB GOAL:To keep the District's buildings in a state of operating excellence so that they present no interruptions to the educational programs.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas, neat and clean at all timesRegulates heat and air conditioning system to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricitySweeps classrooms daily and dusts furnitureCleans corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requiresScrubs and disinfects toilet and bathroom floors daily and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountainsWashes all windows on the inside and outside at least semi-annuallyKeeps all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservationMakes minor repairs to the buildingsReports major repairs and damages to the proper authorityAssumes responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school dayKeeps an inventory of supplies, equipment and fuel on-hand and requisitions such needed replacements from the principal or District administrator far enough in advance so that they may be delivered in such time as will not hinder the custodian's workMoves furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the principalComplies with local law and procedures for the storage and disposal of chemicals and wastePromptly responds to requests as assigned through the District's work order systemPerforms other job-related duties as assignedTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Twelve-month employee. Salary and work year to be established by the Governing Board.
